Mrs. Opal M. Mason, 77, of 407 E. Wabash Ave., died at her home early Sunday. Mrs. Mason was the widow of Edwin M. Mason, who died July 3, 1951. Mr. Mason served as secretary of the Ben Hur Life Assn. for a long period of time. He also held farm interests. Mrs. Mason was born Jan. 26, 1885 in Montgomery County, the daughter of Mace and Alma M. Alexander Blake. She married Mr. Mason April 5, 1905 at New Richmond. She was a member of the First Methodist Church and WSCS of the church, Art League, DAR, Athens Chapter OES and was a long-time member of the board of the Lew Wallace Study. She is survived by cousins, including Fred Alexander of West Lafayette, Byron Alexander of New Richmond and Mrs. Oscar Swank of Indianapolis. Funeral services will be held at 11 a. m. Tuesday at Bright Funeral Home with Rev. W. Goddard Sherman, pastor of the First Methodist Church, in charge. Interment will be in the New Richmond Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home.
